Grounds Keeper

Required Qualifications:

No previous experience is required. The candidate must be prepared to work all three days of the Festival.

Important personal qualities

Outgoing and enthusiastic manner. Able to work independently.

Candidate must be physically fit.

Candidate must be prepared to handle often messy or bad smelling garbage.

Job Description:

The groundskeeper must be prepared to work from 9:00am until 6:30pm on all three Festival days.

The grounds keeper is responsible for the litter and garbage collection at the Festival site.

The grounds keeper must be in costume at all times.

The grounds keeper will set out each morning the specially prepared wooden framed garbage bag holders and ensure that each holder has a fresh plastic bag before the gates open at 10.00 am.

Throughout the day the keeper will pull a purpose built wooden cart around the site and empty the garbage bag holders.

The grounds keeper will also be responsible for picking up any loose articles of garbage which are found to be littering the ground.

The grounds keeper will also keep some tools on his cart such as a post driver and will be responsible for resetting fence posts and to generally fix or repair items or signage which may have been damaged or knocked over by the public.

At gate closing each night the grounds keepers must make a sweep of all the garbage containers and collect any partially filled bags so as not to attract animals onto the site.

Pay

  • £50 per day.
  • Lunch will be provided.
